Information about Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

The specialty of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery requires up to seven additional years of hospital-based surgical and anesthesia training after graduation from dental school. As board certified Oral & Maxillofacial surgeons, Dr. Jay Lalli and Dr. Shawn Higashi manage the surgical requirements of the mouth, teeth, jaws and face.  They perform the full scope of oral & maxillofacial surgery and anesthesia with expertise ranging from dental implant surgery and wisdom tooth removal, to corrective jaw surgery.  They also diagnose and treat facial injuries, facial fractures and utilizes techniques to rebuild the supporting facial bone structure .

The Surgical Team:

The surgical staff at Northland Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Centre is a group of experienced surgeons, medical anesthesiologists, registered nurses and registered dental surgical assistants. Our Surgical facility (NHSF) is accredited and inspected by the College of Dental Surgeons of Alberta (CDSA) and the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA) to provide all levels of sedation and general anesthesia.
