Dr. Jonathan Chu

Dr. Jonathan Chu was originally born in Taiwan, but immigrated to Canada at a young age, and has called Alberta home ever since. He completed his BMSc, and subsequently his DDS in 2017 at the University of Alberta. He spent six years in general practice prior to pursing his speciality training. He completed his Oral Medicine training in 2026, graduating with a Masters of Science from the University of Alberta. During his residency, he also served as a part-time clinical instructor for the DDS program. 

Jonathan is extremely excited to join Northland Oral Surgery and provide Oral Medicine services in Calgary. His professional interests include the management of soft tissue pathology, non-surgical management of temporomandibular disorders, and orofacial pain.

Outside of the clinic, he is an avid foodie and traveller, always looking for a new cafe or hole-in-the-wall to try, or a new country to visit. His greatest joy comes from spending time with his with his wife, daughter and their pair of troublemaker pets – a dog and a cat.
